Tuskegee Part 3
After reading part 3. The beginning stands out to me the most. The first reference was to a Jazz Clarinets Don Byron who created an album by the same name as the experiment. As a clarinetist myself, I could not help but listen to it. Maybe this is reading too far into the material however the music that Byron is playing is harsh, difficult, and extremely hard to even physically play. The notes that he plays are in my experience mildly painful to produce. In order to create those pitches he has to bring in the corners of mouth and dramatically increase the air speed for "normal notes". If done correctly the note does come out albeit more often than not out of tune. I wonder if that is the point Byron was going for. Just like experiments the treatment was merciless, and harsh.
