The article linked above, found during my daily scroll through Snapchat, discusses Serena Williams' birth complications to shed light on the importance of maternal mortality rates among black women. The quote that I found intriguing; "This is Serena Williams we’re talking about. If she can have such a harrowing postnatal medical experience, what does that say about the odds for people who aren’t famous or rich?". It's a quick read that gives some powerful points about the race issue in healthcare, so I recommend taking a look!
This was a good read, Thank you for sharing! I enjoyed the paragraph about the editor in chief recognizing her own role in everything. As well as noticing it she attempts to do something about it and let it be known.
